Casper, Billy - Autographed Golf Ball
Born: June 24, 1931 in San Diego, CA
Died: Feb. 7, 2015.
The 1970 Masters featured an exciting Sunday round with Billy Casper, Gene Littler, Gary Player and Bert Yancey all handing the lead back and forth. Eventually, Billy Casper and Gene Littler would emerge as the leaders, tied at 279 when Sunday's play was completed.
In Monday's 18-hole playoff, Casper shot 69 to Littler's 74 to capture the title in the Masters last 18-hole playoff.
Billy Casper is one of golf's all-time greats, and perhaps the most under appreciated. In addition to the 1970 Masters, Casper won the 1959 and 1966 U.S. Opens on his way to 51 total victories on the PGA Tour. Casper was an 8-time Ryder Cup player and also served as team captain in 1979. In 1978, Billy Casper was elected in the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Autographed on a vintage Billy Casper ball, on a scale of 1 to 10 this autograph has a signature strength of 4.
