One of the most colorful and entertaining golfers today is Sergio Garcia. García, who began playing golf at the age of three spent much of his career in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings. He first achieved worldwide prominence with a duel against Tiger Woods in the 1999 PGA Championship, where he eventually finished second. García won his first PGA Tour tournament at the 2001 MasterCard Colonial in Fort Worth, Texas and then won again at the Buick Classic the same year. In 2002, he won the Mercedes Championships, and in 2004, he won the EDS Byron Nelson Championship and the Buick Classic for the second time. His sixth PGA Tour victory came at the 2005 Booz Allen Classic. As a player, he is particularly noted for his strong iron play and accuracy. After many near misses in his career, García won his first major championship at age 37 at the 2017 Masters.
