Player, Gary - Autographed 8x10 Photo

Born: November 1, 1935 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In 1961, on the 25th anniversary of the Masters, Gary Player was crowned as its first foreign born champion. At 25, Player was the 2nd youngest winner of the tournament behind Byron Nelson. Player defeated Arnold Palmer, who double-bogeyed the final hole, by 1-stroke.

In 1974, Player won his second Masters thirteen years after his first. In a battle with Dave Stockton and Tom Weiskopf, Player struck a dazzling 9-iron approach on 17 to make birdie and emerge with a 2-stroke victory.

In 1978, Gary Player's third and final Masters title was punctuated with a dramatic come from behind victory, making up seven shots on Hubert Green. Player birdied seven of the last ten holes to win by 2-stokes over Green and Rod Funseth.
